South Shetlands Album 1965-66

 Chinstrap colony, 1966

Abandoned Bellingshausen Base, Fildes Peninsula, King George Island -- a recent photo

This is nothing to do with Stonehenge -- but about the place where I learned quite a lot of my polar geomorphology.

I have been going through my ancient photo album from 50 years ago.  Nostalgia rules, OK?

I quite like some of my wildlife photos.  It was quite easy to take them, because most of the creatures had not seen any human beings before!  Now the South Shetlands are infested with tourist ships and scientific bases.  And Fildes Peninsula is classified as one of the most polluted places in Antarctica.
